Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority Launches Redesigned Website with User-Friendly Interface
Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (DTMFZA) today announced the launch of its revamped website www.dtmfza.gov.ae featuring an easy-to-navigate interface that allows quick access to information.
The customer-centric website has been designed to serve as a single-window information channel for prospective and current business partners, investors, engineering consultants, contractors, developers as well as service providers including legal and business advisors.
The website provides comprehensive information on setting up and operating a business in Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone, as well as the laws and regulations that apply in the free zone. Customers can directly download forms for registration and licensing services, zoning processes and procedures.
The revamped website encourages stakeholder engagement that will enable DTMFZA to enhance its service offering. The website is currently in English, with plans underway for the launch of an Arabic version.
DTMFZA’s launch of its redesigned portal coincides with the UAE Customer Service Week that kicked off today and will run until 6 October.
His Excellency Ahmed Bin Byat, Director General, Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority, said: “DTMFZA commends the Department of Economic Development in Dubai for its recent initiative to create a single web portal to deal with investors. This move will enhance the investment environment and competitiveness of the emirate. The redesigned website for Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone underlines the same objective.
“Through implementing practical initiatives that reach out directly to companies and investors, we are working towards securing increased foreign direct investments. We also hope the regulatory information published on the website will serve to increase transparency and raise awareness among our stakeholders.”
Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (DTMFZA) was established in the year 2000 under the directive of the Ruler of Dubai. It was mandated to approve the establishment and registration of companies in the free zone, as well as regulate all related procedures and matters including incorporation, registration and liquidation. DTMFZA also presents and organizes one of the UAE’s most prestigious cultural initiatives, the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF).
TECOM Investments LLC – a subsidiary of Dubai Holding - was registered, nominated and assigned the responsibility of managing the commercial aspects of the business within the free zone as per the rules and regulations prescribed by DTMFZA. A global player in the knowledge industry, TECOM Investments has under its umbrella five industry clusters that relates to information and communication technology (ICT), media, education, life sciences and clean technology. It manages specialized free zones such as Dubai Media Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Village, Dubai International Academic City, International Media Production Zone, Dubai Outsourcing Zone, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (Dubiotech) and the Energy and Environment Park (Enpark).
Over 4,000 licensees are currently registered by Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone with 53,000 knowledge workers employed in the nine business parks. DTMFZA has witnessed a consistent growth in the numbers of licensees with 500 new licenses being issued in the free zone by the end of Q3 2011. DTMFZA regulates a developed land area of 3,750 hectares (400 million sq. ft.), of which 192 million sq. ft. are constructed areas.
